The accelerated healing in burns of treated mice includes the activity of the pentadecapeptide BPC 157 (Figure 1), given locally (as a cream) or systemically (ip), on the inflammatory cells, edema, reticulin, collagen, necrosis, blood vessel formation, number of preserved follicles, re-epithelization, tensile breaking strength, and water content in burned skin
On examination, there are swollen , bluish , tender lumps around the anal verge , consistent with thrombosed external hemorrhoids
Its also important in the formation of red blood cells
In rodent models, BPC-157 accelerates healing of transected tendons and injured skeletal muscle, consistent with enhanced fibroblast/tendocyte activity and collagen remodeling
