The general dosing approach is: Starting dose: 8 mg once daily, taken at the same time each day if possible First step up: After at least 30 days, the dose may be increased to the next level (commonly 2.5 mg) Continued titration: Further increases happen at intervals of at least 30 days, moving up through 5.5 mg, 9 mg, and 12 mg as tolerated Maintenance dose: The maintenance dose is decided by your specialist based on how you tolerate the medication and the response you are seeing The tablet should be swallowed whole, not crushed, broken, or chewed
