BYDUREON versus Liraglutide, Both as Add-on to Metformin, a Sulfonylurea, Metformin + Sulfonylurea, or Metformin + Pioglitazone Therapy A 26-week open-label comparator-controlled trial was conducted to compare the safety and efficacy of BYDUREON to liraglutide in patients with type 2 diabetes whose glycemic control was inadequate with metformin, a sulfonylurea, metformin plus sulfonylurea, or metformin plus pioglitazone therapy (Trial 6 - NCT01029886)
Its effectiveness as an antioxidant is attributed to its ability to serve as a precursor to glutathione, a key endogenous antioxidant in the body [12]
