Invented by cartoonist Rosie ONeill around 1909 and quickly becoming an international sensation including in Australia where this particular example was manufactured by A. J. Long and Co. of Little Collins Street Melbourne. Hallmarked to the verso with his trademark symbol of a Winged Wheel and 9ct this example is of hollow construction and therefore quite light,
